Time to Pay Arrangements

Many people are struggling financially as a result of the cost of living crisis. If you are unable to pay a tax bill, you may be able to set up a Time to Pay Arrangement to pay what you owe in installments.

There are various ways in which this can be done.

If you owe tax under Self Assessment which you will struggle to pay, you may be able to setup a payment plan online.

You can do this if you are within 60 days of the payment deadline, you have filed your latest tax return, you owe £30,000 or less and you do not have any other payment plans and debts with HMRC.

If you do not meet these requirements, you may still be able to set up an installment plan, but you will need to contact HMRC.

You may also be able to set up a payment plan if you owe employer’s PAYE or VAT, and it may be possible to setup a plan online.
